Andrea Smělíková
Artistic career
Dance is her life passion – she began her professional journey by studying Cuban salsa under the guidance of the renowned Mandy Valdés. This encounter foreshadowed her fifteen-year professional career in Latin American dances, which has taken her from local performances to the international stage.
Professional experience
She quickly established herself as a member of the prestigious dance group Tradicion, where she developed her talent in a wide spectrum of styles – from salsa through Brazilian samba, tango, bachata, zouk to afro, kizomba and reggaeton. Her artistic growth continued with an engagement in London's Diablo Dance Company, two-time European Champions.
Artistic projects
She performed in the musical Antoinetta at the Hybernia Theatre, appeared in television programs alongside famous personalities, and in shows throughout the Czech Republic. She expands her artistic repertoire by studying percussion, which deepens her understanding of rhythm and musicality.
Pedagogical activities
She shared her rich experiences as an instructor at international events in Israel, Rhodes, and London. She also taught at Summer Dance Schools. Now, together with Rafael, she will guide you through salsa lessons during our organized retreats.
Artistic philosophy
At the heart of her work is expressive dance, in which she finds absolute freedom of self-expression. For her, dance represents not only physical movement but also spiritual and philosophical dimensions. In her artistic work, she constantly seeks new ways to connect different dance styles and find deep personal expression within them.
Organizational activities
In 2010, she co-organized the PRAGUE Salsa Festival and All Salsa Stars at Hotel Theatrino.
